MY HUBBY IS BACK!!!!!

My hubby is back....and might I say great timing on his part!! After a week of being at home with the boyz because Connor had the flu I was about ready to pull my hair out...seriously! The moment he was home - the sun was shining brighter, my spirits were lifted, and yes, I even was walking lighter (which was a good thing considering I wasn't able to go to the gym for a week ugh!)
The day after he got home, my own personal mechanic was out changing my brake pads on my car - is there anything he can't do??

After that was all said and done (and yes, I made him drive the car before I got in it) he showed off another skill of his...grilling!! Yum, Yum!

Since Nate was back we broke out the Wii that Grandpa had bought for us....Connor and Cooper were all over it and were actually quite good! Don't bring up the golf match to Nate that was between him and Connor - I think he has still not gotten over the fact that his four year old son beat him by seven strokes! Yikes!!

The weather in Whidbey has been absolutely beautiful. It was one of those weekends that made the dreary winter a distant memory! As soon as we ate our lunch on Sunday we were off to explore and of course fight off bad guys at Rosario Beach!

A little over a week left until my hubby leaves again for a month....believe me we will make the most of our time with our favorite guy!!!

And the list goes on and on....

Why I decide to do this now, I have no idea, but I am on a mission to organize my life, which means the never ending "TO DO LIST" - Yes, I am my father's daughter. It might be because I have been home bound for the last five days with the boyz since Connor has been sick OR (and this is probably the most likely) my hubby comes home this week (YEAH!!!!!) and this house will just not cut it!!! So back to the list, for those faithful few readers of my blog, yes, I had to resort to blogging on my to do list as sad as that seems...and I do have a lot of catching up to do so settle back while we recap Easter weekend!!!
Friday night found us at Beth's house with Carter and our friends, Mindi, Elli, and Ava - MISSION: dying Easter eggs, decorating cookies, and lots of laughing and running around!

THE CREW:

Let the coloring begin: Connor is definitely more about the process of it all...

Cooper on the other hand - just plop it in!

The finished product.....(which I might add made some great sandwiches three days later)!

Then we were on to the cookies:

GO BLUE RACERS!!!! That's right soccer season officially began and Connor was ready to go:

It was a great game but unfortunately they lost (we are not supposed to be keeping score! They give them that speech that everyone is a winner - don't worry I had a talk with him in the car about that)!

Connor's cheering section - Thanks Carter and Beth for coming!!

Sunday Morning - HE HAS RISEN!!! As a mama of two young boyz, I really do desire for them to know the importance of the Resurrection and what it means - I mean I know they know that Jesus died on the cross and rose again but that was not on their little minds when they woke up because we had a visitor - the Easter Bunny! (he dropped off the baskets at the door because it was raining - thanks Bunny)!

After the kids came down from their Easter Bunny basket highs we were off to church!

After the egg hunt at church we were off to Brandi and Bryce's house. Coco (Brandi's mom) was still in town and she was making a southern Easter dinner - yum yum!!! You know that line you cross of comfortableness and being completely uncomfortable - oh yeah that was me after eating all that delicious food!!!
What seemed like an eternity to the boyz...it was finally time to start the final egg hunt - and we saved the best one for last!

I am not kidding when I say there were EGGS EVERYWHERE!!! Not only eggs either...there were toys, and Peeps, and eggs with money! I should have brought a basket for me!

Halfway through - Cooper decided to take a break!

Now it was time to go through the "treasure"!

The only thing that would have made this an absolutely perfect Easter was if my hubby would have been home! It is times like this, through all the separations and missed holidays, that I feel so blessed to have such amazing friends here in Whidbey!

Only two more days until my hubby is home....it's back to the To Do list!!

Great Wolf Lodge = FUN, SUGAR, MORE FUN, and A LOT MORE SUGAR!!!!

On Wednesday morning, the boyz, Brandi, Bryce, Coco, and I piled in the car....packed with the essentials.....snacks, toys, movies, and headed off to Great Wolf Lodge - an indoor water park about three hours away! There were three rules for our trip: 1. No Whining 2. No Crying 3. HAVE LOTS OF FUN!!! The boyz were ready......

The fun began half way to our destination when we stopped for a break and Coco bought them each a toy and a Batman painting set - which kept the boyz busy the remainder of the trip - the first of many thanks to Coco!!

As quickly as we could, we ditched our bags in the room and headed to the water! We spent the next couple of hours in the wave pool and then the baby/toddler pool which included slides and jet skis that sprayed water - Coop was all over that one... he was not as big of a fan of the wave pool as Connor was!

SNACK TIME!!! and let me tell you Coco knows what the boyz like....she loaded each of the boyz up with cotton candy, jelly beans, popcorn, apple juice, and pizza! Connor was in sugar heaven!

After dinner, it was off to the arcade room... Connor spent the majority of his money on a dinosaur machine that grabbed toys.....more treasures, and Cooper loved playing air hockey!

After the quarters were gone, and the novelty of the games had worn off... the boyz were happy with their treasures and the yellow sports cars from Coco!

At 8:00 the boyz were ready for their story! We headed down to the lobby where the trees and animals came alive as a Native America little girl told a story! Connor was naming all the things that were real until a boy in front of him told him they were all mechanical....Thanks Kid! Luckily that didn't ruin the enjoyment of the story for my little man!

This morning we did two more hours at the park and then the kids went and picked out swords they had been eyeing up at one of the stores! What a trip!!

Thank you Coco for your generous heart and for loving my boyz like family! You have given us wonderful memories of our trip to Great Wolf Lodge!!

Palm Sunday Service for the Boyz.....

This morning, the boyz sang at both services for Palm Sunday! I am definitely that mom who sits in the first couple of pews, camera in hand, with a big smile on my face giving them that "You are doing so great" look! How can you not with smiles like these.....
